Build Direction

Build Direction
I have a '94 GT I love to death, and I now have a new joI b and can afford to do some things to it. I had a big list of things i wanted to put in it a few years ago, but i am thinking of going in a different direction, soo looking for some input on that. Motor has 180,000 miles in it so a rebuild is probably a good idea. Not sure what all i should do for that though.
I am not looking to build a race car. I want a considerable amount of horsepower more than stock, and I would like the car to sound cool, but I dont want to deal with constant breakdowns, and overheating. I still want a mellow idle. I hear some cars with comp cams in them that just sound like ****. When i punch the accelator i wanna feel it, but i do not want to hear it sitting in the parking lot, sounding like my car is dying.
That said I'm looking at either a supercharger or twin turbos. Is it true that supercharging given better mpg when driven in moderation? I'm leaning more towards supercharging because i have heard it is less maintenance as well. I'm open to either though. The supercharger i like is the 6 psi model kenne bell makes. It looks cool and it says it makes about a 100 horsepower more than stock. Would it be a good idea to add better internals along with that or are those made to work with the stock components. I think the kit comes with the upper intake manifold and the blower itself for the one I was looking at (TS1000-94). So i was thinking of adding of longtube headers, exhaust, jlt cai, a 75mm throttle body (recomended for supercharged?) a cam that doesnt idle like crazy, afr heads. would i need an intercooler for this setup or would it help keep things cooler. I'm not really sure what they do. Also it says i have to have underdrive pulleys for the supercharger. Is it true they cause battery failure? If so, would a better alternator help with that. I wanted to add an amp or two anyway for speakers. Two birds with one stone kind of thing. for the ud pulleys i remember something about march performace being the ones i was going to get for some reason. I want to be around 350-400 horsepower without losing reliability. Don't want to be much less than 350 but id sacrifice horsepower for a more pleasant driving expierience around town. Thanks in advance for the help.

no
351W is a heavier-duty motor than the 289/302 and will stand up to more abuse so i fail to see how that would make it break more often...
and a 363 is built off a 4 bolt main block and if you break that you have issues...

Whats going to fit what im looking for the best? Wont the supercharger give good fuel economy and not make me have to pull the whole engine out? I dont have the resources for a swap really, at least as far as my garage goes. What are the pros and cons for these choices? What would be better about blowing my 302 versus putting a 351 or 408 in there? or turbos?
