Default camshaft upgrade

right now i have a 94 5.0 i am looking a at doing a intake and cam upgrade right now i am running rebuilt gt40p heads crane 2030 cam 10to1 compression and a cobra intake 1 5/8 shorty headers 2.5 offroad hpipe and flowmaster american thunder system 3.73 gears with a built 5 speed. I have an edelbrock performer rpm intake i want to use on the car and i want to change cams cause i was told that the crane cam is not that great of a cam. I am thinking of going with a comp cam XE270HR 35-351-8 extreme or is there a better cam to use than that

Cobra intake is better than rpm I had both plus systemax and gt40 the latter two were the best
Keep the cam a270xe was kinda lame for me but is ok I guess for a stock 5.0

I'd say at this point to save some money and get some good cylinder heads as whatever you get for a cam will end up being sort lame as the heads will be holding things back.
For a 302 something like 170cc Trick flows or AFR heads would be good.
I'd also get some longtube headers so you will have something that will work, shorty's are nothing but convenience items.......

If you are not wanting to spend the money on new heads and are going to be changing the cam consider gasket matching the heads. Do the port job yourself then take the heads in for cleaning, crack check and milling if needed. Most machinests will do that for about 200.

yawwwnnnnnnnnnnn

dont waste your time or money, $600 can get a used set of trickflows...

ask yourself ~$400 for "ported" E7's that MIGHT flow 210cfm or $600 for used TFS heads that will flow 260cfm?

and you can run higher compression without worry...

and you can port them out to 320+cfm if you decide to go ***** to the walls and make a NASTY stroker motor

Look before you pump up this guy about porting
One has to know a hell of alot more than wittling and making a runner bigger

He is gonna have to know radius cross section air speed volume how to taper a wall and by gawd have a sonic tester handy or he will go through a wall

And 320 cfm will be a sh@t load of money to be had cause no 600 dollar trickflow will het that and 260cfm-280cfm is alot for a moderate built 302 with a .600 lift cam and that's if it doesn't go sonic before that

Yes e7 are a waste but don't kid yourself if you are going in this halfassed

Fox Lake is around $1000 for stage 4 porting, so ~$1600 for a 320cfm head? where do i sign? lol

Omg foxlake I would not do business with them and I'll leave it at that

And FYI if you find a 205 or bigger trickflow head for 600
They are junk
Somebody is a drunk
Desperate like a ****

To the op you cannot expect 320 from a 170 or 190 head

People need to learn how to read let alone understand what it actually takes for heads of that qaulity

Springs will need to be changed valves will need to be worked or upgraded As well it is not as cheap as some think
