Fuel gauge not working
My 91 gt has a fuel gauge that isn't working. Where is the fuel sensor located? I know the fuel pump is in the tank, but from a picture I looked at I only see two wires going to the fuel pump assembly which looks like a positive and ground for the pump itself.
I don't see a flotation arm assembly so how do these cars measure or track the amount of fuel in the tank?
I am not sure if its a sender or the gauge itself.
Is there any way I can test the gauge with a multimeter or run a lead to it to determine if its working?

Oh man get this. When I bought this car the oil pressure, water temp, and fuel gauge were not working.
Well this morning I started the car and my voltage gauge dropped to zero and would not work at all. I thought maybe a bad instrument voltage regulator. Then I decided to peg the oil pressure gauge to see if it would respond. I put a wire in that single oil pressure wire off the old sending unit and touched it to the negative terminal, but nothing happened.
Then I touched it to the positive battery terminal and not only did my oil pressure gauge peg to zero PSI, but my voltage gauge came alive again and my water temp gauge started responding again.
I expected a response from the oil pressure gauge, but suddenly the voltage gauge and water temp gauge are working again also?
Anyhow, the fuel gauge is still NOT working. It is still showing 1/2 tank so tomorrow I am going to pull the cluster and check the OHM level at the yellow/white wire behind the cluster. The gauge reads 1/2 tank and these cars are 22ohms@empty and 148@full so if I get an ohm reading other than around 83 ohms I would suspect the sending unit is good and is putting off an ohm level which the gauge or slosh module is not responding to.
At least I hope I'm on the right road here :P
