Default E-Street vs Performer...

Has anybody seen the E-Street heads offered by Edelbrock? I am not considering getting either of them...I just wanted to know why Edelbrock would make a set of "entry level" heads that outflow the Performers AND cost less. I looked on their website and the E-Street has superior flow numbers. I did see that the Performer heads have a higher max valve lift. And of course it's not all just about the flow but I'd say that in this case and at this level it is a pretty major factor. What do you guys think about this?

They are decent heads from what I have heard......but I would save your money and just go ahead and buy AFR's or trick flows....

Oh I'm definitely not considering buying the E-Street or Performer heads. I have a combo already picked out. I'd buy Performer RPM's if I found a set at a really good (really cheap) price but def not one of those two. I was just bringing it up to see if anybody else noticed the flow numbers or knew why Edelbrock would make this head. I guess they did it to compete with the Patriot Performance Freedom series heads. Otherwise it makes on sense...

For anyone wondering, THOSE HEADS ARE COMPLETE AND UTTER GARBAGE!!!!! Better yet, the casting's themselves are fairly nice. They actually flow a bit better than the performers. Unfortunately, the valvetrain is cheap and weak, hence the low price. In fact, they are not even suitable to a stock 302 roller cam. I can make these accusations because I have run them before. Made good power(284rwhp/322rwtrq), but had all sixteen valve spring dampners break in half. The result, metal chunks in the oil pan and a clogged oil pick-up. Springs are advertised to .550 lift. What they(Edelbrock) fail to say, is .550 lift flat tappet camshaft-direct from Edelbrock's prestigious techs. Spring pressure: I forgot what they were rated to, but they were enough to laugh at.
