Default GT40 Explorer Intake MAF issues?

I apologize if this issue has been covered repeatedly already. Anyway, I'm talking to a guy who is parting out a 96 Explorer 5.0 engine and am probably going to buy the heads off him (these have the emssions). I am now thinking about buying the upper and lower intake also. I saw a discussion about the tubular GT40 intake not having the MAF and would need a conversion if upgrading the cam (which I am doing). Will I run into a MAF issue with the non-tubular intake taken off a 96 explorer? And if I do, exactly what issues am I facing and is it correctable without an insane amount of work?

well no intake has a MAF

some have the egr plate integrated, but none have a MAF

the problem with explorer parts, and im not versed in which ones are what, but some(probably all) of the lower intakes are -BA manifolds and are only .96 X 1.65 and the -AA lowers are 1.00 X 1.80

the heads pose a potential problem too. 4 hash marks, AKA "p" heads need specific headers and have smaller ports.

so in essence....explorer stuff is just gt40-ish parts....as opposed to gt40 parts

yes they look similar...but are very different
