Default Valve Cover Gasket

Does anybody know who makes a good valve cover gasket for a 1990 Mustang GT? I did a valve cover gasket change on my wife's Saturn and used a Fel-pro gasket.... 4 times. After the fourth time and gasket, I just went to the junkyard and pulled on off... it worked! Basically, I don't want to go through that again. Does anybody know which one will actually work?

If you managed to get 4 fel-pro's to NOT seal, the problem isn't the gasket. It's you.

I did EVERYTHING by spec and very thoroughly I might add. The fel-pro gasket was too big. It didn't fit at all. The gasket I pulled out of the junk yards was an exact fit, and it worked the first time.

Also, I was not the only one who complained about that gasket on that particular model car.

Then either a manufacturer defect or possibly the store you used had the wrong part number entered in the system

Whatever the case, do you know any brand that worked for you? Also, I was considering changing out the intake manifold. I'm not looking to race the car or anything, but if it's a cheap way to add a few horses without sacrificing longevity of the motor... why not? Any suggestions?

Like I said felpro works for me, worked perfectly fine on my celica. As far as intake a lot of people opt for a gt40 intake, you can find them cheap if you look around

I use the rubber type valve cover gaskets on my race motor.
It uses a solid roller cam so the valve covers come off regulary, no sealing problems at all.
Rest of the engine uses Fel-Pro gaskets for everything, they may cost a little more but you get what you pay for.
