popped a valve spring today
Took the Mustang out for it's first drive with the new engine, IT'S SO FAST!!!!! 0 to 60 is instant. I didn't get real crazy with it though, never went over 4k rpm. Drive it up and down the road twice and on the way back the second time I started feeling a misfire. Decided it was probably a mechanical issue due to it's abruptness. So I loaded it onto the trailer and brought it home. Pulled the plugs, # 3 didn't look like the others. Decided to do a compression test starting at #1 and heading down the line. Got to # 3 and we had nothing. F. Pulled the valve cover and discovered a broken valve spring on the intake side. By this time I was expecting the worst, a hole in my piston, bent valve, ect. I took the rockers off and my dad pulled the valve up while I turned the engine over. Luckily it had great compression. So, I've emailed TEA for a replacement. Could've been a lot worse.

^ That would be nice but I doubt it. I bought these from a guy over on Corral. I don't have a part # so I'm hoping they can help me out. They are LS1 springs, 1.300" diameter with 160lbs on the seat and 440 at .600 lift

I wouldn't even be sleeping until I had all 16 springs off that engine and correct ones installed.
Don't forget to use all new locks also.......

I don't plan on replacing them just yet. When I ordered my cam I sent all of the information on my setup to Jim. This was a fluke most likely. I'll just see what TEA has to say and go from there. Now, if another one breaks, please believe they're gonna be gone.
