That is really cool; you and your brother both have projects going together. Gives y'all someone to lend a hand to and maybe a little competition to keep the momentum going as well. Keep posting pics of both of your cars!

Got one side cut out for the most part. RUST EVERYWHERE.... We will get one side done this weekend, but the other side will have to wait until next weekend. Gonna start sandblasting the underside tomorrow.

You have some work ahead of ya! My 83 is a little worse than that on the under side. My rockers are not gone though fortunately!

It's not just the rocker panel that's gone, there is a major part of the structure missing. It's a part of the car called the cowl. Since its next to impossible to find this, we're going to rebuild it. It'll be stronger than it was new. Going to put in some angle iron where the roll cage will be welded up.

Do they not sell cowls? I thought I saw some online somewhere... Might of been when I was looking at classic parts I can't remember though..

I'm not seeing any. We've already made a nice piece, I'll get a pic in a few.

There are not any companies that make the cowl yet. They make the cowl covers that cover the hole in the middle.

Man, thats a lotta rust! I'd be tempted to go south and buy a roller - they're pretty plentiful around this area... But - since you're already into it - good luck!
