Kind of like how I found mine back in 04. I was 16 when I bought it. Saw it in a field and asked a farmer about it. Fresh gas and a battery and she fired right up. Gave him $500.00. I did get to drive mine through high school though before it sat for a couple of years while I piled up parts.

Got the interior out and the fenders off today. Traded a guy at the body shop an S-10 to install the floor pans and rocker panels. He's really good and rust is mostly what he deals with out there. This sheet metal stuff is just something I don't have the stomach for and he's had his eye on the truck for a while. Works out pretty good considering I've only got $300 in the truck and replacement engine. The plan is to start cutting next weekend.

What size rims and tires are in the pictures? Also, how do they compare to stockers width wise and what set up did you use? Ranger axles on the rear? What about the front?

Tires are 245/45/17 on a 17 x 8-inch rim. Stock rim for this year was 15 x 7-inch with a 225/60/15 tire. The car has rear disc brakes, front disc brakes, axles and spindles, all from the same 94 GT. I got some PBR dual piston calipers from an 01 GT a while back for free so I'm going install those soon.

I'm sure that a single tube does drop some weight though but you can't beat what I did.....removed it and left it completely out lol
on my 92 i weighed the front and back before i removed them the rear was 43lbs the front fiberglass bumper was 22

Sounds about right......

I have actually wondered what the weight difference is between a tubed front end (strut tower forward) vs stock.... I know that also kinda depends on how much tubing, what kind and what not but still.....I will find out once I do it

Thanks kid. I'm STRONGLY considering putting a roll cage in while I have the interior out. I'm putting torque box reinforcements in for sure. Any thoughts/ opinions on this? I know nothing about the rules of a drag strip but I have heard that you are not allowed to race on one if your car is capable of breaking into the 10 sec range. Any truth to that?

Depends on track rules but most require a cage of some sort for that time....but you can run it and then get told you can't then go somewhere else or hope they forget you lol and do it again ..

Might as well while you are there.

Do it now while its out or you will be Mfing your self when you go to do it in the future and have to tear it all out. plus you will want to lay down carpet that will be cut for the cage once and the stuff that is factory doesnt really work to well aka looks like crap. 11.50 and faster you need a roll bar which is basically a 6pt though nhra will let a 5 point go which is a 6 point with no passenger door bar. I would strongly think abou your total goals with the car if you plan on adding power that can get you into the 9's go with a 10 pt because the 6 point roll bar is only good to 10.0 after that you need the halo up top and the dash bars.
