Anything wrong with running 91 5.0 AOD in 'D' instead of 'OD'?

302 army is right...the aod goes into od WAY to easy. that constant clamping/unclamping of the band causes premature wear. fyi the od IS the weakest link in the aod
your doing the right thing, you should ONLY use od on the freeway or where you know you will not be shifting in and out. the diff is only from a 1:1 to a .68:1
so miles per gallon are virtually unaffected at 50 and under
still no clue on the van cooler thing...
but i bet you dont have 2.73 gears.
check your door tag and you might be surprised
m=2.73
z=3.08
e=3.27
i only use 4.10 in my 5 speeds.... a 3.55 bump in an aod will feel like you did nothing. i had 2 aod cars with 3.73 and still bogged off the line when it hooked in least bit.
aod NEEDS 4.10 minimum

I just went to the local u-pull and pay, and found at least 4 vans there, and all of them had them, even chebby van's, and since it will just be connected with high pressure hose, there basically universal.
With my AOD I had 4.10's and it was a night and day difference from the 2.73's I had stock. HUGE difference.
if the car is more daily driver/highway cruser then performance, then I would get 3.73's.
3.55's like bob said shouldn't even be on your radar with a AOD transmission.
I would still get the transmission cooler first.
