Default 3g alternator swap question

Have another one lol finally got around to getting this done, but ran into a small snag. I have near everything ready, but on the stock plug that you clip off there are only 2 wires, not 3. So essentially, I would have to mock up a stator wire. It appears as though what they did they made the output feed drive strait back to the stator via the plug. So I figure I can route a wire strait off the output terminal to the stator plug since the stator only needs a little big of power back to it. Anyone think this would hurt anything?

I can't remember how I did mine exactly but, I remember it was spliced into another wire.

How you are talking about doing it, I have done before so, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

*edit* sorry misread what you said at first, but I can't think of why it wouldn't work either, just figured I would get a 2nd opinion so I don't overlook something. It seems as though that was fords initial idea anyway with the looks of this plug

As long as it has a power source to excite it, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I believe on mine I spliced into one of the orange and black wires but, not for certain on that.
