Default Weight reduction & 1/4 Mile times. (For fun)

Hey guys, I've been doing some light weight reduction (nothing too serious) to my fox. I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with actual differences in their 1/4 miles numbers with weight reduction. So far I've taken off about about 50 lbs from the front (about) and when I do the heads there is another 50 lbs. I'm wondering how much of a difference this will actually make. Thanks for your post in advance!

The old saying is every 100 lbs is equal to 1/10th of a second. Give or take a bit. How'd you drop 50 lbs off the front before replacing the heads?

I swapped the stock hood (50 lbs to exactly 20 lbs), took out the smog pump and accessories (maybe about -10 + or -), AC delete (maybe -5 to-10), charcoal canister delete, (who knows... 2 lbs lol), a light weight aluminum flywheel over the cast iron, so without saying an exact number it's close to 50 lbs for math's sake.

100 per 10th is what everyone says. Removing rotating mass like going to skinnys up front will do a little more than that.

Yeah I didn't think there was any real set formula. It all has to do with grip, power, and weight. Too hard to really figure out unless you have a before and after test. But it sounds like a decent rule of thumb.

There is also a 35# or so bumper and support brackets under the front bumper cover that can come off a strip only car.
Aluminum radiator can save some weight too.
Lots of weight can come out of the interior, maybe 120# or more.
Manual rack and manual brakes both get more 'good' weight off front end....
Yep, 100# per tenth is a pretty fair standard to guesstamate off of.....
