What cam should I use?

Idk where this is going but the comp 35-518-8 would work, the Vic EFI will have to be port matched also if comes cast to fit a stock e7 port for some rediculous reason!
I have those heads on my 347 they are great heads but as mentioned they are seriously oversized for a 302! Maybe a turbo would make them work or a hellashious nitrous gulp lol!
Your runner volume to cylinder cuin is way off the vlv size to cylinder bore is off etc etc... It mostlikely will run like ****!
If you had the funds a 331 or 347 kit would be right up your alley!

Well when in the planning stages of an engine build you have a vast number things to consider, using formulas and different specs in the process! picking parts and installing them isnt really the way to do it you need to know how the part will affect the other parts and what cartain parts need to work there best!
as for the hyper pistons i ran a 150shot on my last set for 3 yrs and now i have 200 on the set i have now! They are very good pistons i have heard horror stories about then and nitrous but to me i think its nitrous error or missuse that does them in hell you can melt forged pistons too with nitrous just depends on how dumb or stupid you want to get!
Sorry i can really sit here and give and exact map on figuring the write parts set up for what and so forth...
but to figure your vlv sizing to cylinder and this is just a base figure you use your ex vlv should be 40% of the cylinder bore and then the in vlv should be 51% of the cylinder bore! or as close as you can get to your numbers like a 4.030 bore would be 1.625 for ex and 2.055 or so for the intake so you get as close to those sizes as you can but certain cuin will only need so much head and certain heads only come in certain vlv sizes so you have to look at other areas to compensate for an under sized vlv like cam lift and duration etc this may help or it may just confuse you but you get the picture i`m sure!

I understand that better now, I never knew about The valves being a certain percentage of bore size. This motor is just for a little bit of fun until I get my 351, I was planning on getting all the good stuff now and slapping it on the 351 when I get it. But thank you very much for the information, I'll definitely be sure to use it as a reference for future builds.

Well as i said there are a vast number more things to look at than just what was mentioned and exceptions to every rule!
Like on a SBC they have huge vlvs and small lift and duration cams its a give and take depending on what you are after in end result!
Getting lobe sep right for your compression and cubic in etc... thats a rhyme in itself lol! not too bad once you understand what to look at.
I cant really list everything to look at as far as getting the build exactly like you want it but there are plenty of post on different things on the web that you can referance and get there!
The heads will be a great starting point on a 351 base though!
