Default I hate oil leaks...

It doesn't drip a lot on the floor but makes a mess of the underbody as well as STINKS...If a guy WERE to pull the motor to replace an oil pan gasket, INTAKE GASKETS, & valve cover gaskets (my mechanic said $1200 ) what else would be a no brainer to take care of at the same time...I'm thinkin' a new oil pump (which one of Ford Racing replacement pumps) would be on the list..

Dave

It's not hard to do this stuff. I replaced my oil pan when the engine was in the car, its just a matter of loosening mounts and hoising it up.

I also did the rear main seal when the engine was in the car from the ground.

All the other stuff is cake to do with the engine in the car. Water pump and intake gaskets are no problem.

i also have a slight leak. but im not sure if its oil or trans fluid... i notice it when i start car up and run it or sitting at a stoplight there is smoke from it hitting the exhaust and a smell... i would like to pull the motor and take apart and clean it up and paint it and get rid of ac compressor and smog pump and nice pullies and belts. i would replace all gaskets wile its out...

so if your going to have motor pulled i would save up to have it looking nice too wile its out... mabye new valve covers and stuff, de greese motor and firewall and suspension, paint....

Update: After closer inspection, appeared to be most oil coming from rear of lower intake manifold gasket...completely blown out. Replaced & problem solved!
