suspension question...
ok so i found out my car has been lowered somewhere about 1-1/2". before i realized this i was going to lower it 1-1/2" so i bought some cheap monroe secetrack shocks to get me by until i could lower it. my car would bottom out (hit bump stops) with a passenger in it. well i put the new shocks on it and it still does it. is i possible that someone lowered it with a soft spring rate FRPP springs?my question is should i redo it with eibach stuff or should i buy some good shocks. i don't know when the car was lowered and how old the coils are. if i re lower it i am going with an eibach sprotline and eibach springs and sway bars. i know my 98GT was lowered 2in and never had a problem bottoming out. what do you guys think?

Springs support the weight of the vehicle and the load increases with the length of travel. The FRPP springs are more than adequate for your car.
Your problem is in the valving/general performance of the shocks/struts.
Shocks slow the action of the springs significantly. If you removed the shocks you would bottom out at every little bump. Suspensions work as a system, if the performance of the components are not matched, you will have problems like you are experiencing.
Monroe shocks/struts are very basic OEM type units. They will not work well on a performance car, especially one that has been lowered. They are fine for your mom's car, but not your Mustang (no insult intended).
Personally, I have the FRPP springs and adjustable Koni yellow shocks/struts (lifetime warranty!). I can drive with the shocks/struts set at their lightest setting & drive with 3 people without ever bottoming out or having a negative effect on the handling.
Koni also makes a non-adjustable version that is much cheaper. They are very heavy duty/long lasting units.

I only know about the Koni brand, but my experience goes back a couple decades. The yellows carry a lifetime warranty and if you ever have any problems with a unit you get a replacement shipped quickly.
I have read about warranty issues with the Tokiko units, mostly how it is impossible to get replacement units if you have a problem Strut. I have also read that some people think that these are too harsh, even at the lightest setting.
