I have had the original radio cassette player in my car since factory and wanted to put the new Alpine stereo in with some new kicker speakers...This new stereo rocks !
Keeping the original radio putting it on the shelf.....

It was the best money i have ever spent on a car stereo I went with the kicker speakers I tested them all and these had the sound I was looking for they had a little more mid range tone/base compare to the alpine speakers .The Alpine speakers are good if your installing a music base box in the car with a good amp even those this stereo has built in amp already. It also comes with blue tooth when I get a call on my cell phone it stops the music and there voice plays through the speakers when i'm done talking it goes back to playing what ever music you had on prier to the call, it's called hands free for talking to people on your cell phone which I thought was nice ! also come with adapter to play your I-pod through it I paid $139 at Best Buy here's information on this alpine stereo they have other like it with even more features but this is all i needed !

hopefully it has its own sub-pre amp output that allows you to go up or down on the subwoofer ONLY, without messing with the actual amp, lots of the cheaper players dont have it!

Indeed. That's what I'm looking for though I have a switch already mounted to control my subs. And yes, kicker does rock. I have Kicker L series all the way around with an L3 12in in a ported box. Hits hard enough. ;D

Dude your stereos awesome and i love the hands free phone thing.Only problem is im still trying to find the piece that holds a stereo in.The previous owner took it out and clipped the damn wires that hook up the deck.Ugh...
