Default Sideswiped by a freakin harley

My life is over!! Not really but it hurts! I was driving and as i came to a non protected left turn i slow down and put my blinkers on.., then all of a sudden this fatboy sideswiped me..? F*^C!!! Iv always avoided accidents since i have no full coverage and now this! Progressive is his insurance so they already called me to take my car in for damage assesment.

My question to you guys.., What would you do? Take the money too fix it and make it a salvage car or let them buy the car from me for cheap more than likely and start from scratch?

By the was this shop already gave me a quote to fix and it was $3k..., im guessing total loss, but they added things they didnt need to like a specialist to take off quarter window.., which i told the guy that those where bolted on.., So this place is like the creme de le creme of shops around here.

If I were you in your shoes, I'd have it fixed. That was a clean car. It sucks that happened

Your car looks real clean in the pics. If it were me, I would have it fixed. At least you know what you have in your car. As for a salvage title, it is a 24 year old car does it really matter. Sorry, it was a shame it happened to a nice looking fox.

go buy a new rim, used door, some used ground effects, pull the window out yourself so the rear quarter can be properly painted and let a body shop take care of the mess in front of the wheel, Gauranteed with what money you get you'll still come out ahead

well the guy somehow turned out to be a bumb. No job, No money., but he has a fatboy!
If i take the money they make it salvaged right?
The door i would get from the junkyard so not worried there.
The rim easy!!
The only thing thats ganna cost me is the paint because i dont paint!

Do you think if i tell the insurance people that i will put another door, rim, etc and all they have to do is fix the quarter panel and paint.., would they do that? I mean that way the shop can finish fixing it and i save the car from a bad title because then the charges will be much less?

Wouldn't hurt to talk to them. Tell them that you want to keep the title clean and see what they have to say. As for out of pocket expenses, I would sue the harley driver in small claims.

Thanks ill try!! With the info i have now, his name/insurance info i can sue him? I dont have a police report but i think i have a good chance as the insurance company has the harley driver at fault, but isnt that a long process?

Not your fault it happened. Why spend out your money on repairs for something someone else did. I would want reimbursement. I have never sued someone in small claims, so I do not know the process.
