I've not gone from a 73 to a 55. All my swaps were 2.73 or 3.08 to 3.55, 3.73, or 4.10

I've now had two 8.8s w/4.10s and prefer the steeper gear. Personally I don't speed on public roads so the few extra R's don't bother me @ hwy speeds. I'd rather have the fun down low.

Also, running out of rpms at the top end of a 1/4 run is no big deal. In that last 100-200ft very little is gained in a 12+ second type of car.

yes...your looking at 250 rpms lower or higher given the swap

then why are you asking about 3.55's ? he has 3.27 AT BEST, or 2.73's

you can totally hook him up at your expense to spend $600 later , wanna be my buddy ? i have some sweet 2.73's to save you some money, you'll be getting an awesome deal...i'll even let you pay for labor for swap on BOTH cars. think of it..... all the power and MPG too. this deal wont last long tho....its open to THE PUBLIC !!!!!!!!

have you even bothered to look at codes ? have you ever seen a 5.0 with 3.55 stock ? have you seen a 5.0 AOD with 3.08 ????

sorry just asking a dumb question that ....yes....i already know the answer to

with my old blower motor I went from a 3.73 to a 3.55 picked up almost 1.5 tenths. 10.60-65 down to a 10.47. I was running out of gear on the top end and getting out of the power band.
