Alot of guys say the c4 is better. But in my opinion this aode wins it all. Yes the valvebody was almost double that of a good c4 one and the converter being a lockup was pricey as well. Other than the 300m intermediate shaft I bought for this thing its a basic stock rebuild from FoMoCo clutches wise and band. Added an extra clutch...that's about it. To me it was worth the extra coin for the valvebody and such,1600rpms doing 60 on the highway is the best tradeoff as well if you street drive often.

what did you need for tools anything special? other then the basic stuff I Know the AODs need special seal tool so I have told. Looks like I will be doing a AOD-E for my son real soon his is acting up. My c4 with no more gear then I run with the 28in tall tires is not real bad out on the road I only run 331 gear due to the turbo liking lots of load. But the over drive would be nice on the long hauls that is for sure.

Strange 10 ways on all 4 corners,UPR coil overs up front 14"-175lbs,stock k member and a arms,Rear consists of single adj lowers and double adj uppers, stock v8 springs, and obviously not installed yet a Team Z anti roll bar. Struts are set all the way loose and rear shocks are at 6. Slick is a 28x10.5.
