Alright guys I need some help. I have a 1990 mustang gt. I just replaced the rack and pinion about a month or two ago and recently the power steering just stopped working one way but it would turn the other way just fine. So I thought it might be the pump so I replaced it and bled it. It worked for a little while then just stopped working again completely. I have also put a new belt and tensioner pulley on it.

Trash in one of the inlets on the rack blocking flow?

That could possibly be it. But it calls for type f tranny fluid and I didn't know that before so it had power steering in it for a while. Could that have messed anything up?

Same thing, but power steering fluid costs more. So, I would flush it all out, check for trash in fittings and lines, then add ATF like it calls for.

How should I flush it out?

Don't worry about the flush just yet, it's not vital. Find the problem with the line. Will the wheels turn normally with key on/engine off?

Yeah it's just hard as hell.

I've checked all of the line and there is flow through all of them. Nothing clogged

You have something blocking flow somewhere, might be in the rack itself.
