Default 84 intake on an 87 5.0?

I am going through the process of installing a 5.0 hipo out of an 87 gt in my 69 Mustang. I need an intake manifold so I can convert to carb. Will an intake off of an 84 5.0 work?

Thanks In Advance,

James

Yep, it's still a small block Ford.
So many good aftermarket intakes for it......

I have two 5.0 engines the first I am just trying to get built on the cheap to get her up and running again, while the second I will build with the performance parts and swap out when done. Since this manifold is only $60, why not?

because new the edl 289 intake isn't more than 129 iirc and used I buy them all day long for 65-75 and if using the 84 intake you'll need all the spacer plates and or egr plate to block off / cover up the hole
