Best bet is gonna be an 8.8 welded tubes, 35 spline axles what ever diff you want I personally would run a locker or a spool. I ran a spool on the street never minded the tires chirping. Also go ahead while your at it and have 9" big bearing ends put on. That will take care of your c clip issues and they are much stronger and less problematic in terms of leaks then c clip elims. Make sure to get a motive or frpp gear, and a stud girdle and a lube locker gasket. Ive been mid 8s with this dumping the trans brake at 8 grand over 50 passes no issues. Chris tuten has run high 6's with an 8.8 but he had to change out gear sets more frequently then id like.
