Default got an 88 gt

Never had a foxbody and got this one. Needs a lil tlc. Gonna change the headlights and taillights cause they're altezzas. It's gonna need a clutch and gonna start prepping it for paint by the spring. Was wondering what would be the cheapest way for a 5 lug conversion. Thanks in advance. Any advice appreciated.

Nice battery strap lol.

Been covered a million times. Junkyard parts. Anyways, get spindles from a 94 or 95 Mustang, v6 or v8 doesn't matter. Driver's side axles from an '83 to '92 4 cylinder or 3.0L V6 Ranger/Bronco II with a 7.5" rear end, or Aerostar passenger side axles from an 86 to 97 model (they should measure 29-5/32"). I have a Ranger axle and 1 Aerostar axle in my stang. Don't do the lincoln rotors upfront, you'll have a limited wheel selection.

Upgrade from that SSI intake when you get the cash. Thing needs a real intake.

Congrats on your first fox. And don't try painting the car yourself, I speak from experience lol.

Like stated above, id replace that intake with a different one when you get the chance, the bbk is a poor intake imo congrats on the fox lots of fun to be had with these cars

I wouldn't say that. It all depends on how much time and effort you can and want to put into it. I painted my own fox( fist paint job) and while it's not perfect, I'm wet sanding and buffing it and it's looking show car quality. It's also been a great leaning experience and it something that id like to do more.

That's true, I was mostly joking with that statement. If you have the time, patience, and the right tools, I think it can be done. I only had 2 of those when I painted mine. Made me appreciate how much work goes into a good job thou.

Might try to fix my mess one day, eh, probably not.

I upgraded my old fox with 2000 spindles. Got them on eBay loaded with dual piston PBRs, rotors and pads etc for like 200ish

Found a 94-98 setup via eBay too. Complete with axles for like 275.

Get an adjustable proportioning valve from summit. Need a different master cylinder and you have to gut the old(can't remember the right name) valve under the master cylinder.

Also need and adapter for one of the front hoses.

I did the complete conversion without cutting or flaring a single line. The union at the pass firewall was the perfect spot and threads for summits adj. prop valve.

You'll also need to do some mods to the hand brake. The 79-86 were manually adjustable so I didn't have to do anything. You have to mod the automatic adjuster on your 88. Oh and you'll need new cables. I got the FRPP cables made specifically for the conversion. Good luck!
