Finally gonna put my car back on the road this weekend after the crappy long winter we had! I only drove about 500 miles after changing my oil before I parked the car for the winter...it's been sitting since November so I wasn't sure if I should change the oil or if it would be ok even though it sat all winter.
I personally change the oil in my summer cars (that are parked all winter) once a year, in the spring, before I drive them. If the car was parked in a dry garage, you should be fine. If the car was parked outside, I'd change it because of condensation.
Yeah I changed it not long before I parked it...wasn't sure if sitting that long outside would do anything to it. I did start the car a lot during the time it was parked tho
I've seen what happens to oil if it sits too long, aint pretty. I'd change it solely for my own piece of mind. Like someone posted above, wont hurt it, and for all you know, it may save it. Unlikely, but possible.
