I remember the SVO very well first time I ever heard of a turbo on a factory car. I always loved mustangs my first one was a 72 Mach 1 wish I had kept it. Now the GT is my second and it's not going anywhere. I do have one question on a 84 GT were the rear axles 8.8?

Not hard if you are handy with a welder, or if you know someone who is. If the old ones aren't too bad they can be fixed, if not there are replacements readily available.

I know a person that has a friend to help him weld things up. This might be a great excuse to get a welder like I want from Eastwoods to learn how to make repairs myself.

I bought a cheapo Lincoln welder Flux core from lowes. Super convenient since there's no gas to deal with and operates like a mig. Bought it about 4 years ago and I've got through three spools of wire. It's handy to have for those stuck bolts that are common on older vehicle suspension.

This was the one I was thinking about. But truth be know my GT is almost rust free one place in the passenger rear floor.
