Very cool find, congrats! I love coupes, and a four-eye coupe is going to be a real head turner when it's done. You just don't see that many anymore that are in good shape. Cool thread, bookmarked! Can't wait to follow the progress.
I would take it down at least replace the crank bearings. Looks like it was driven for quite some time with a blown head gasket, and all that coolant in the oil tends to wash the bearings down and create tons of problems. Rings could probly use a replacing as well , there is a lot of carbon build up so I am assuming it was burning quit a bit of oil as well. Would suck to find out you don't have good compression due to bad rings. Also I would tear the heads down replace valve seals and clean it all up.
Yeah I think I have decided to replace the rings and all the bearings. Also, I think I am going to use a set of gt-40s or gt-40Ps. That I will get worked.

Yea the gt40 heads are quite an improvement over stock heads. And if you can find the upper/lower gt40 intake get that as well. The heads and intake can net you close to an extra 35-40 hp over a stock setup. I know a lot of pple claim the gt40 stuff can get you an xtra 60 hp but that's all hype.
Yeah I can get the GT40 heads at a junkyard around here for $75. Well I think I am pretty certain I am going to convert to a carburetor and sell the aftermarket EFI stuff to finance the rest of the build.
