What mods are on the car currently ? Or is this a complete stocker yet ?

What are your plans for this car ? A fun daily driver, strip car, road course, etc.

motor is stock and I want a fun daily driver.I have 3.55 and a t-5 already in the 89.When I bought it the car had no motor so I found a motor and did a compression test on it and the number one cylinder only had 90 psi compared to about 120 on the others.The guy I got it from said it hadn't been started for a while and I never heard it run.

Soooo........ your looking for more power for the 89, while finding the cause of the low compression?

I can only suggest camping out on Craigslist or a forums "used parts" section and grab everything used. Research the mods your interested in then dive in. You'll save a ton of cash if you can do the wrenching yourself.

TFS = Trick Flow

They make heads and intakes, and I think cams too.

time to rebuild that motor, not mod it.......add some oil in the suspect cylinder and if compression jumps significantly = ring issue and if not do a leak down test after that to locate the source of the loss of compression........................of course you could follow this advice that I had with an ignorant fool a while back on a 40 year old motor: "From my experience, a lot of times on older engines the cylinder bores and pistons are in good shape - - - the rings are worn." Grant it your motor is not 40 years old but most 5.0's have been ridden hard and put away wet so once you find the source of low compression, you most likely will be rebuilding it and not just reringing like the unlearned individual I had a conversation with tried to promote to an OP.
