1990 Convertible Deck Lid question
HI Guys,
I tried doing a search so if I am duplicating a prior discussion I apologize. I have a 1990 convertible and i want to get rid of the luggage rack. I know they sell the smooth deck lid replacements but my questions is how the hinges work. Will I just use the same convertible hinges I have now? There is the small hinge towards the back corners. I notice that the notchback's must have an interior hinge system, becuase they don't have any hardware on the exterior of the lid.
Do I just deal with the small exterior hinges, or do I need to replace my convertible trunk springs with a notch style of trunk springs and hinges?
Thanks again.

you just buy the repo decklid drill a couple of holes for the external hinge....if you have a welder you can put a copper penny(1982 and earlier) on the back side and weld up the holes for the luggage rack. take a punch and tap the center of the rivets then drill each one out. to start
if you dont have a welder you can slightly tap down around each hole and grind the paint off and use fiberglass mat and resin sand smooth primer it and then paint it-
