No, my wife changed her work hours so my Thursday nights are stuck at home with my 2 "all knowing" teeneagers, and my 2 younger "still sweet" pre-teens.

I might bring them all down there one on these Thursdays, be nice to see everyone again.

lol Next week here is even better, they expect us to hit 100.

I am building my truck right now, hopefully I can finish it by next summer so that I can go on the power tour. My dad and I have talked about doing it for a couple years now.

Yeah, we might get 1 or 2 days of that up here a year, but I really don't know how you guys do anything fun outside in that. Maybe I just didn't get used to it being in it for only 3 days, but I was glad to get home to our natural air conditioning lol.

Having a car with air is a must down there, my Mustang is bare bones with what felt like fleece covered seats. I didn't post the pic of my drive home, half naked, with wet rags to cool down.

Tell me if you are from Ohio or Indiana where to pick up the start at? Do you have to go up to WI. to start or do you go to Chicago. Sounds like real fun.

If you wanted to get the long haul award you would have had to start in WI and go to the end. Next years tour will be going from East to West, they alternate directions the tour goes.

Yeah I'm used to the heat, it doesn't bother me much. As for the A/C in a car, well I rarely even use mine. My first car didn't have A/C so I got used to not using it, I just roll my windows down. Occasionally I will use it depending on whether or not I have someone with me or if I'm going to be doing a lot of stopping.

My dad told me when he moved to California people kept asking how he was handling the heat. He would just laugh and tell them this is nothing. One of his coworkers came out here to do work and they said as soon as he stepped out of his hotel he was sweating like crazy.

Next years tour will start close to where it ended this year, which was Baton Rouge I think. Hot Rod will post next years route next May. I got lucky and this year's start was only a hours drive for me. It was the 11 hr drive back from Memphis in one day that was a little tough.

If you do decide to join up, even for a couple days, jump on they're website and they'll have a list of hotels that offer a group rate for tour participants. Reserve a room/rooms asap, Then start going over your car with care. It's the perfect time for upgrades as I told my wife, "I'd better get THIS/THAT fixed because we don't want to break down 12hrs from home". She happily agreed to every penny spent.........win/win lol.

Yep, lol, that's exactly what it was like. It sucked at the time, but we're already planning for next year's tour. It's worth it.
