Default Looking for opinions on a 94 to 95 5.0 swap, Is my logic good?

Hey guys, I have a 94 5.0 that has a few issues. The oil pan has a leak and labor cost will be 430. I also requested a tune up quote and it was in the 400 range (i requested the tune up because I don't want to deal with the risk of pulling out 21 year old plugs). Well I found an engine that was pulled from a 95 junker that is good and it is the full engine from top to bottom for 950. Will everything go back together as is? are there any differences with the wiring of the 94 versus the 95?

I was thinking of buying that in and swapping out with my car and pulling my engine and building it into a performance engine. I know labor wise i would have to pay for swap, but it beats the money I have to pay to fix the mechanical issues on the car right now. What I'm getting at is coming out of pocket for a little more money I would end up with 2 engine.

The other thing going through my mind is just fixing what I have and looking into a bigger engine to build in the future.
Thoughts?

HOLY CRAP !!! $830 for a oil pan gasket and tune up ???

If you want to do this and isn't a financial burden to you, that's fine. Just seems WAY overpriced for the work needed. And your plugs will come out, they're iron heads.

I agree. Oil pan I can see, but not plugs. It already in the shop now. Good news is I will get some sort of discount. I raised hell about the tune up costing so much.
