Battery Gauge reads low
#11
True, it won't actually hurt anything. I drove my car this way for years. But on a cold, rainy night with the headlights, wipers, and blower on low, the headlights were so dim they were useless, wipers barely moving, and my feet got cold from the blower not moving any heat lol.
Just an example, but swapping to a 3G was literally night and day difference. Wish I'd done it sooner.

Yes, you'll need a new alternator.

That's great, but if your still running the stock alternator, it's only a 75 amp alternator. If you throw any load at it while idling, it won't keep up. Hence the reason for a 130 amp upgrade. The gauge will stop dropping at idle, even with wipers on, headlights, blower motor, and electric fans all on.
