Default Question about horsepower differences

Im starting a 306 build. I'll be using a Summit Racing balanced rotating assembly. I have a set of Ford Racing 64cc X302 heads and I'm thinking of going with an Anderson N-41 cam. What I'm wondering is what kind of difference in horsepower is there between the F.I. versus a carb set up? Also, what kind of headers is recommended for the heads I'm using? Thanks in advance for the advice! OH,...I'm driving a 91 vert with a T-5.

Minimal difference, my advice is to stick with the EFI even though it may seem like more of a pain to tune and set up.

It's really not, the self learning capabilities will ECM will self correct any parameters that may be out. With all the work done to my car, I've never had a tune. I run a wideband to verify AFR and the stock computer does a great job at keeping everything spot on in all driving conditions. Plus the added benefits of all around better drivability, fuel mileage, cold start, idle quality, etc, etc.

As for the headers, I'm not sure. Just give Ford Racing a call/email and ask them for details. I'd think any SB Ford headers for the Fox should work. But again, I'm not sure.

Welcome to the forum by the way, glad to have you.

Lot of drag strip cars use carburetors.

FI is better for mileage, emissions, etc.

Not sure there is any horsepower advantage to FI.

Since you have EFI you might as well keep it. All though both can be tuned for whatever you could need, the time and money you would spend to convert it could be better spent on making it faster!
