Default Fox Body Mods with $2500

Hi i'm a new member and I am buying a 5 sp. fox body this September. I have driven one or two and i have always wanted one so i decided to save up. I read the first mods list on this site and most of them like the gears and i knew to do already. I will have $2500 to put into this car as soon as i buy it so i am wondering what mods i can do to get the most hp out of the 302 with that money. I don't want to put a supercharger in it right away though. Also i am wondering what brands are the most reliable for these mustangs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kevin D.

I was planning on getting 4:10's, an exhaust including headers and subframe connectors as a start.

I made a list of stuff but i have no idea if any of it would be a good choice or not.

BBK underdrive pulley kit
BBK cold air induction
Pro M MAF
Comp Polymers Intake Manifold
Jacobs ignition system
BBK Headers (ceramic)
BBK X Pipe
Mac Flowpath Mufflers

that intake is way overkill for a stock motor, look into trick flow, edelbrock, FMS for a more street oriented intake

Alrighty... thanks. I was actually just looking at the edelbrock a few minutes ago.

How much horsepower can i push out before i need to start buying new internal parts for the engine like pistons ect.?

edlebrock makes some cheap heads for cheap, comp cams are good (just saty away form the A,B,C store.. err i mean cams they'll get you drunk), get some 1.7 rr's and maybe a trickflow or GT-40 heads and that will wake it up big time!

Yea I agree, a gt40 or cobra intake would be about right also don't forget your short throw shifter. And if you can get away from the clutch fan and go electric.

And with talk about adding this much hp/ tq you really need to look at upgrading the clutch or torque converter ( witch you have) also you need a diff. You want to get that power to the ground
