Stop the Madness
I just got my 2010 for 5g off sticker. Of course I wanted an extra 100 horse car... was I gonna get 5g off the sticker? Of course not, at least not for 12+ months from now. But I wanted my new car now, my Pathfinder was giving me problems and so I got the 10'. For the guys who paid more, thats life. You dont buy a car as an investment, it's a mode of transportation first, a toy second and if your fortunate enough to have money to pay over sticker, you are probably not one of the guys arguing price in this thread. They all depreciate and the minute it goes off the lot you just spent minimum 33% of the sticker price.

So, people have voiced concerns about the new 5.0 not being friendly to easy mods...I had a chance to speak today with Mike Harrison, the Chief Engineer of the 5.0 and 6.2 and he answered those questions for me. Basically, he said that the new 5.0 does have room to grow but the mods may not do as much as they have in past generations...Ill have a link with the discussion shortly.

So pretty much, the new mustangs won't be modular at all...what you get is what you got.

OMG This is amazing news! I previously owned an 07 Shelby GT and had to sell it due to money issues. Now that things are much better, by the time this comes out I WILL be getting one. I'd love to get the nitty gritty specs on the motor.

The More things change the more they stay the same
This is the same discussion that happens every time Ford comes out with a brand new motor. The old one was better, usually because more parts are available. (Except for the late 70's)
The 5.0 was the best, the 4.6 was crap because of the heads, no way you could get 400 horsepower.
The new one can't be improved. Sure it can. As long as a manufacturer has to make an engine get good mileage, run smoother, and get performance, there are trade offs.
That means you can always get more. Better breathing in and out, different cam profile, compression, fuel curve, bigger mass airflow sensor and so on.
I think with the DOHC setup, there's all sorts of new horsepower available, just maybe done in a different way, say at higher rpm, or ??
Hmmm.. Imagine ringing that modded up motor to 9 grand woo hoo!
