Went to pick up my wife's new 2010 Edge last night, and sales rep (who's sole me an 02 Bird & an 05 Bird) knows my love interest with the Mustang. Tells me, "Jim, dealers just received the 2011 Mustang order guide...would you like a copy?"

I've got it for anyone who's interested (it may already be posted on this site, if so, I apologize in advance).

I got my 2010 back in July and I love it, Im not that upset about the new 5.0, Im actually happy; now those guys in Camaro's can't say anything about the horsepower gap. The only thing I want from Ford as repayment for me buying my 2010 GT is two little "4.6" badges to put on my fenders...then I'll be satisfied

Default 2011 Mustang GT

I am new here...and I am here because I was going to buy a new 2010 Camaro. Then I saw the news of the 2011 Mustang GT with a 5.0 and 412 HP and 390 FPTQ. I did some more research and found that it would be under 3600# and that is with the automatic trans and the spare. So I figured the manual trans and no spare in the truck will give me a 3500# car at 412HP. Then I found that the price was going to start at $29500 for a base Mustang GT with manual. The gears will be 3:73 or 3:55 with the 6 speed. So if all this is true then I can get a 2011 Mustang GT with a 5.0 at 412 HP that weights 3500# with 6 speed and 3:73 gears for $30,000!!!!

Now I am not a Ford guy, in fact I have never owned a ford in my life (well a mercury topaz in 1992) but this is exciting news for all car guys no matter what you drive.

With the Camaro at 3800 pounds and 425 HP and the Challanger at 4100# and 426 HP the 2011 Mustang Gt will be the king of the street as I see it. Add a turbo or SC and you have a 500HP car for less than $35000 that will be scary fast and fun to drive!

I started saving my duckies now and will wait till mid 2011 and start the hunt for my next hot rod.....2011 GT with 6 spd and 3:73 gears...what a wonderful time to be a car guy!

on Ford.ca they are now allowing you to build and price a 2011 Mustang GT. The two performance oriented packages it has are

California Special
and
GT Brake Performance, main thing being GT500 brakes

both packages cost 1700 CDN and come with like 15-20 items

a 2011 GT with one of those packages is 39000 CDN

Bah.

For anyone hating themselves for buying a 2010..It's silly. I bought my sunset gold v6 because I got a good deal on it with 2011's around the bend. Walked out with it for 17,500...just under 19,000 after all the bs reg,tax,etc..

Could the 2010 be better, sure it could. But it is what you make of it. Got wheels on Monday, custom duals on Tues. Custom sound early next month (gotta wait for the kit with digital climate control). When I tell it to go, it goes.

216 hp (or 210..I forgot) vs 300.. Not a huge difference for an everyday car. If you're hitting the track and road racing, sure. In that case beat the living daylights out of yourself and march right back into the dealership and start breaking things until you get a 2011.

Other than that...the 2010 is still a damn nice machine.

i just got my 10 and love it. will i get a 5.0 in about 2 years, probably.. but for now I love my 10 gt and got a good deal. not bitter at all.
I'm coming out of my 08 E90 M3 and it never saw anything close to a track, wasted power etc.... so I have to agree with above post...

210 to 305 is a huge difference unless you drive like a granny.

I can relate. I have to borrow my wife's 05 Focus sometimes. I'm 3/4 to full throttle 90% of the time.
