Default Quote for 2011 GT - Thoughts?

**History, for the quote info, look below*** Well, I've been on this forum for quite a long time. I currently have a 2008 V6 Pony Package, silver with flat black stripes. I had been planning on using my tax return money on the X-Charger but my thought process has gotten caught up on the 5.0 track and I've been leaning much more towards the 5.0 over the X lately.

***Quote info**

$32,300

2011 Mustang GT 6MT
Premium 401a package
Shaker 500 with Sync
Brembo Brake package
LSD 3.55

---------
When I build this car on the FordVehicles site, it comes up as $36,180. I'm getting D-Plan so the price after that is $32,300.

My issues/Questions:

#1- Are the Brembo's worth it? I'm in Michigan and at first I thought, well I'lll just get a 2nd set of tires to use in the fall/winter/spring... but then I remembered there's a reason why they have 19's on it with that package. I don't believe 18" rims will fit over the Brembo's, so I'd be stuck with 19" all year long.

#2- Is the Navigation package worth it? I'm thinking that because the Brembo's will cause an issue for me with tire/wheels... that I'd remove the Brembo package and replace it with the electronics/Nav package. I haven't been in a car with Sync or the Sync with Nav, so I wanted some opinions before I make a decision. I plan on test driving a '10 model with Sync too of course. My issue is that my '08 with a Shaker 500 sounds AMAZING.. AFTER i replaced the stock 500 head unit with an alpine unit. I cant find info anywhere on replacing the stereo in the '10 but because of the center stack, I'm guessing it's just not possible. Does the shaker 500 head unit in the '10/'11 deliver as uninspired as the '08 did? I never changed out speakers or amps in the '08, just the head unit swap alone brought the sound alive. If the Shaker 500 underwhelms in the '10 like it did in the '08, does the nav pack setup sound better?

#3- I'm thinking about going with Kona blue, soft white side to hood stripes with a red pinstripe on the white stripe, then the read leather sport seats/interior. Has anyone seen this setup before? I'm only slightly worried that the cashmere inserts will not go with the theme of the car (Blue, white, red).

SO let me know what you think!

You can find an 18" wheel that will fit a brembo brake system. They are out there.

With the 5.0 a big Brembo package is a good thing lol, gotta stop them ponies somehow. As far as the 5.0 over the X'd v6, yeah thats a no brainer if you can do it. I wish I could lol.

Gl and enjoy if ya get it!

Thanks for the info on the 18's possibly fitting.

Thanks Mook. I got a new job and doubled my salary 2 months after I bought the V6, so I shouldn't have a problem with the new GT. Plus I only owe $12,000 on the '08. I have service reciepts, window sticker, '08 options/packages poster, 20,000 miles, special edition pony package floor mats still wrapped in plastic, and a transferable 100,000 mile warranty... so I am thinking I should be OK on selling it to help with a down payment on the new one =)

*** I thought of another question. I have a brand new set of FRPP GTA mufflers, still in the boxes laying in my apartment.. are there any chances they'll fit on the '11 GT or will the new rear bumper/engine combo not work? If it wont work, I will just sell the new mufflers.

**another thought regarding the Brembo package.

I work for Continental Automotive so I get a discount on tires and brakes. I could reasonably put a performance set of rotors/calipers on it at a discounted price... Hmm

lol thanks, it's the plan!

Nobody has an opinions on the shaker 500 setup, nav, or if the frpp GTAs will work on an '11 GT?

I wouldnt get the nav package, how often would you really need to use it? And if you need directions just use your cell phone GPS. But I would get the Brembo package, the wheels alone are $1000 so for $700 more your getting better brakes, which makes it a good package to get.

Your quote sounds good. My recent order with X-plan on a 2011 Gt only save me about 3K off MSRP. I would definitely get the Brembo's.

The "Nav package" isn't just about the on board nav system. You know if you want nav or not. The BIG plus is in the variety of listening options available, if that's what you are into.
If you spend a lot of time in your car and you love music, your options are:
CD
DVD (you can play a concert DVD while you drive, audio only)
DVD-Audio
MP3 CD (about 100 songs per disc)
MP3 DVD (about 450 songs per disc)
Burn audio CD's to on board Hard Drive (100 CD capacity)
MP3 player via USB (I have tried ipod, zen, zune & sensa)
Portable hard drive via USB (250GB Passport)
Sirius

With Sirius Travel link, the options are mind boggling....

So yes, I am very glad I have the nav package and I strongly recommend it.
