Default i am not sure of gears

i know that you shouldn't "fear the gear" or whatever, but im not sure whether i should order my 2011 5.0 with 3.55 or 3.73 gears. i would like some numbers that i could use in my decision between the two. like mpg loss, top speed loss (i hope i'll be able to test that, lol) and such. what would the 0-60 difference be? like what, .1 or .2 seconds difference? i need some guidance

I've read 0.3-0.4. And most people say it's the difference is most noticeable in your bumbums when you accelerate.

3.73 for sure with a stick. Don't worry about mpg loss or anything like that. It is so minimal it's not worth sweating. The way it feels when you drive it will definitely make up for it.

i recently got some gears education so i can kind of help (thanks Gene!)

are you going to the tracks? if you are, 3.55's will be the best because on 3.73's you'll be hitting the rev while crossing the line, slowing you down.

i'm personally going 3.55's when i get the chance because the gearing of the new 6 speed makes 3.55's equivalent to 3.73's

I wouldn't worry about gas mileage cuse it's gonna be crap at first with how much your gonna be jumping on that thing. But being honest I was also told the 3:55 in the new car is equal to a 3:73 with a five speed cause of the gearing. I personally would still get the 3:73.

I would drive both before deciding. New tranny, you might not like that tall of a rear end. First gear will be a joke.
