That's a good rate. I have 'top teir' credit, and 5.28% was the best the dealer could find for me on 72 months.
Of course, percentages can vary by region/state anyway, not to mention that any particular dealer will have a finite number of banks with which they work.
Perhaps I could have done better if I shopped on my own, but the deed is done . . .

Just a bit of advice.....and you guys can tell me to shut the hell up. I buy a new car pretty much every 2 years and I have learned to shop for your own financing. Ford always tells me this is the best we can find and I call my credit union or State Farm and find out otherwise. State Farm gave me 4.1% and oh by the way the GAP insurance that only gets paid for about 25% of the claims is no charge at all. I am no expert, but I have always found way better financing on my own.
Bigger banks, Wachovia, Bank Of America, Chase, etc... usually dont want to lend you money unless you've got a significant amount deposited WITH THEM.
So you mentioned credit unions, and state farm... I didn't know they even did financing... I thought they were nothing but insurance... but what are some other outlets out there to look into financing?

Star I had no idea they did either until I got a deal in the mail a while back. I usually just get on the internet and start calling around asking what their rates are. I figure Ford gets something for sending business to the companies they use. Now I don't know that for a fact, but if I sold cars I would be getting something for using them. Also I bought a boat years ago and was still able to use a Credit Union that I was not a member of. They just started my membership when I bought the boat. They are making tons of money off you anyways. I never opened a checking account or anything with them. You could even search yahoo, and put something like "best way to finance or find financing for a car." I am sure you will find tons of stuff. I just prefer to talk to people rather than look it all up on the internet. That way I can ask specific questions etc.

Excellent.... PenFed is great from what I understand, my father just refi'd his Bmw with them... he was in the Air force so he qualifies, and so do I as I'm his son (though I've never been in the military myself)

Anyone will a 05 mustang gt with CAI/Brenspeed tune, 4.10 gears, steeda underdrive pullys, Mac prochamer and axlebacks will it be able to stay with one in a straight line? Don't laugh but got a strut tower brace and that really makes the car handle better.
