Not to answer for them, but replacing a stock midpipe with a pipe that is catless generally means a 10-15 hp increase at the top of the band. Because you lose the cats and the associated backpressure, you generally gain nothing down low and actually lose a little torque.

As a general rule . . .

Alright, the Magnaflow Competition Series (axle-back deletes) are too loud for me. I'm pulling them off.

If anyone wants to buy them, I'll sell for $300 shipped to the lower 48. They will have only 1 day's use on them.

Why couldn't this have been two days ago...UGH.

Sorry you didn't like them, man. Hopefully this isn't what I find as well. Mine are scheduled to deliver on Friday, 7/2/10.

So, last night I got my Competition Series installed and WOW. Down low it sounds like any old Mustang with the mufflers deleted; up high - I'm assuming due to the Ti-VCT - it's the most amazing sound I've ever heard emitting from a V8.

Yes, it is very loud. But yes, it is worth it!!

Glad you like it, man. I think I got spoiled with the Roush O/R exhaust on my 2010 -- it was the perfect volume and tone.

Personally, I would put some classic 40 series original flowmasters on. $100 for mufflers... $80 maybe to have them installed. They can cut apart your old mufflers for tips/small pipe to the muffler.

I have put flowmasters on every Mustang I have ever owned. This is the 4th and I plan to do the same. Of all the different sounds I always come back to it. I like the idea of cutting the old mufflers up for the tips. Only problem now is finding someone who will not screw it up. Did you have them do that to yours Menace?

I thought muffler deletes would sound good on the 2011 5.0 since they do have resonators.

Many people like it. I was (erroneously) thinking it would resemble the sound I had on my 2010 Roush O/R setup, since it was essentially a muffler delete with resonators. However, the sound is louder and more . . . snarly.

I guess the 5.0 engine/resonator combination just made something completely different.

Keep the ones you have and get these put in:

http://www.flopro.com/Twister.htm

the sound will be very much like your roush

3" in and out only 12 inches long with 4 or 5" casing, you can just cut 12 inches out of the deletes
