Question 10 second

Hi everyone just got back from the dealer from test driving the 2011 5.0 beast. I loved everything about the car except the exhaust a bit too quite for me . I want to know order mine this weekend I was wonder if I want to make the car a 10 second car later on what can I do? I am new to the muscle cars I've been a European car guy most of my life always loved the mustang. And when they came out with the 5.0 I knew I had to have it. So would you guys offer me some info on what I can start with when I get the car to get it to 10's low 11's. Oh and which Axel would you recommend for me?

Thank you.

Well,,first off I would concentrate on the driver mod!!LOL. With just a set of stickys & a good driver theses cars are capable of low 12s at sea level with nothing done to the motor! However with a simple 125-150 shot of nitrous, slicks & driver mod you should be in bottom 11 territory. With Longtube headers, CAI & a tune added to the car you should see the high 10s. I recommend use of light weight wheels for your slicks. You could also go supercharger & hit the times you want VERY EASY. Even see low 10s depending on boost level.

Now there is other ways to shave time off your car as well. Weight reduction is the simplest 1st step. The rule of thumb is for every 100lbs you take out of the car you drop your ET by a tenth. Then theres suspension....My personal favorite along with weight reduction...A good suspension set up for 1/4 times will be very helpful! As a matter of fact Im willing to bet if someone used some adjustable rear shocks, UCA & LCA's, a sway bar delete, K-member replacement(Whenever that comes out) & slicks these cars will net a solid mid to low 11 territory. With a good driver of course!

it will endless really but its still too new.
Option 1) bolt ons....lots of them and the driver mod

Option 2) like you mentioned a 125-150 and some tires/suspension

Option 3) s/c or turbo with supporting suspension mods
