Default to brembo or not to brembo?

is it really worth it on the 5.0?
or are the standard GT brakes enough?

I think the general consensus among most users on the forum is that if you plan on tracking your car and REALLY pushing your car hard, then go for the Brembos, however otherwise I wouldn't suggest going for it. If you do have the money for it and are interested, then I'd say go for it since I also like the wheel/other package components.

I don't have the brembos and honestly the stock GT breaks are pretty beefy as it is. They easily and quickly bring my car to a stop under all of the conditions I've found myself in with the car. They might not be brembos but they're something people will still look at and say, wow those are some pretty big brakes.

the stock brakes on my dads 06 4.6 are pretty strong also and i figured that they would be pretty much the same.

like you said, the main reason i like the brembo package is the wheel upgrade!

The wheels alone are more than the package. It's a great deal! If you plan on driving in the snow...keep in mind the tires..which are expensive, are "summer only".

As wide as the standard GT500's. No other OEM Mustang wheels will clear the brakes. 9 inches wide, 19 tall.

If your considering getting 19-inch wheels, one thing to take into consideration is that any of the other optional 19-inch wheels cost $995. So for "just" $700 more you get the brakes too. Just food for thought.

I have seen grabber blue with the brembo rims & it does look good. I wouldn't hestitate getting them if you don't mind paying a little extra.

BremboTM Brake Package includes 14-in. Brembo vented front rotors with Brembo 4-piston calipers, 11.8-in. vented rear rotors with 2-piston calipers, unique electronic stability control (ESC) suspension tuning, and 19-in. dark stainless painted aluminum wheels with P255/40R19 summer-only performance tires (manual only; not available with Rapid Spec 402A)

Mostly for track. But would be fine on the street too. The tire is the mostly reason for this package but then add a 14in rotor kit later is also much closer to 2K+ in parts in aftermarket land. So choose carefully.

O by the way GT500s don't have the same wheel sizes. The nice ones will have the SVT option and you should just get the PDF of all the options for the car.
SVT Performance Package includes 3.73 gear ratio with limited-slip differential, 19-in. x 9.5-in. painted, forgedaluminum wheels with P265/40R19 front tires, 20-in. x 9.5-in. painted, forged-aluminum wheels with P285/35R20 rear tires, unique front and rear springs, unique rear shocks, unique shift ****, unique Shelby stripes, unique bodyside stripes, unique spoiler with Gurney Flap, and under-belly aerodynamic shield.

I didnt see this mentioned, but with the Brembo package many suspension upgrades are included as well. Its not just brakes and wheels even though thats what sold me on it to begin with. For the price the Brembo option is not to be turned down.
