I cannot remember, but if I am remembering correctly, the MT82s from late last year started to use upgraded synchros to address grindage and I read a rumor in another 'Stang website that the '12 MT82s were going to use some Boss tranny parts to address other problems.
Don't quote me on the Boss parts though; those were only rumors I read and I cannot even recall the site I read that on.

I guess my car is perfect because after 13000 miles I have yet to experience any grinding or any type of issue with my transmission, not saying it won't happen but it has not happened yet.

Does it drop below 30 degrees F where you live?

Sandman, I agree. I only experience the notchy shifting when cold. Both of my stangs are garaged. My Fox and Coyote. So, climate in NC really doesn't play a part that often. Only when I park outside somewhere for an extended amount of time. It hasn't gotten any worse though. (Thankfully). By the way, nice color!

I bought my 11 mustang GT in January this year. I live in MA and anyone from New England can agree we had one of the most brutal winters in recent memory with temps in single digits to lower teens more often than not. My 6 sp manual performed flawlessly then as it does now.

Not to pour salt in the wound, but not one single problem with mine either. Seems even better since I slapped the Bama Tune on it.

After over 19,000 miles on my 2011 that was manufactured in May 2010, the shifter has always been a little notchy. Installed a Barton shifter which gave it a little more effort, but its never gotten worse, which I take as a sign that the notchiness is just the character of the transmission, not that there's anything necessarily "wrong" with it. And when I put the skinny pedal to the floor and row through the gears, its still a delight and getting into gears is no problem.

Don't they beat the hell out of these cars before they go into production? Did Ford skip the testing phase and leave it up to the customers?

Had my tranny fluid changed per the bulletin. I really think the problem was the fluid. if your in a cold climate and did not get the fluid changed quick the syncros will be worn. the trick is gettin the fluid changed quick and not adding friction modifiers or changing to any other brand of fluid. u just need to catch it quick and put in the ford dual clutch fluid. Mine shifts great now, cold and warm. though it never gets below 30 here.
