Here's start up from the outside.

Now seriously, why would you buy after market mufflers for $400 when you can get this beautiful music at start up, nice and quiet on the highway but mean as hell when you're on it and about 80lbs of weight savings for $100?

I agree 100%.....^^This should qualify as a contender for best quote of the year!!^^

Sounds awesome...and your correct. $400 for Roush or $700 for Corsa and to me the deletes sound great and like you said a lot lighter.

Wanakanabe, you are a brilliant cinematographer. I was watching that car ghost down the road, thinking "wow, you cant even here it." Suddenly, the silence is broken with a rumbling start, and The Car comes across view, close in from stage left. LMAO. The ripping run away from camera, the cruise back past, and the return again from off camera. Please post that on youtube. Simple, good work. It had a beginning, middle and end made of suspense, suprise, and muffler-delete drama.

Not to disparrage you own fine work, 1badduck. Fine work as well and thanks for the various situations you recorded for our education. I think you're right about saving the $$$.

I picked up a new 5.0 this weekend and went and did the very same thing at the local muffler shop for 100 bones; couldn't be happier/louder!

it's been about a month now for me and I'm still loving it...noticed just a bit of a drone around 70 going up hills, but not bad.

I just got my 5.0 into the shop yesterday. We talked about doing a couple different things, but decided on cutting off the old mufflers and tips, so i can save them, and weld on two 20' stainless chrome plated tips. The tips are those that are usually installed on trucks that you see, but it looks very similar to the guys in the old Fox bodies. The sound is amazing, it resonates in the long exhaust tips and drone is similar to what everyone else says, around 2-2500 rpms. Videos don't do it justice.
