The shifter in the picture is a 2013 model. My 2012 does not have + &- on the shift botton. The 2012 shifter and shift pattern is an ancient design for automatics. It is very easy to miss a shift with this kind of design. Modern automatics, like my 2004 G35, has a different manual shift gate. Once you move the shifter to that gate, all you have to do is to move the shifter up and down to change gears, you cannot misshift.
