For those of you wasting $500+ on axle backs
#11
I think you guys are missing what I'm saying. This isn't directed to all of you who spent under $300 on your current exhaust setup, it's targeted towards those that are ACTUALLY spending that kind of money on just mufflers. On a side note, I also don't understand how magnaflow gets away calling their kit a "cat-back" for the 5.0's when it bolts up AFTER the factory H pipe.

urmm.. probably because the cats are located in the factory H pipe? you aren't gaining anything from a "cat back" system on any mustang anyway, need atleast high flow mid-pipe or o/r mid-pipe or headers.

Umm..no? If you remove the factory H pipe the cat's are bolted right up to the factory shortys. The kit I got replaces the H with an X and still retains factory cats. I'm just saying, gains or no gains, I don't like it when people advertise for something that it's not.

+1...why does it bother you so much that somebody is spending $500+ on THEIR car? It'd be like somebody starting a thread saying "i can't believe people are spending less than $200 on their car, why do they have to be so cheap"...it's all about preference and also look, because you're not getting the same look from the $500 exhaust as you do a $200 exhaust...and the person may prefer the $500 sound over the $200 sound

Since when did Cat Back exhaust systems start including X/H pipes? I really like my Hushpowers...worth every penny. Just one of many mods. Doing H/C/I next with long tubes then a short block and blower after that.
