Default Hurst 2011 5.0 short shifter

I have a 2011 5.0 (manual). I've been asked by my local mustang auto shop to publicize my car on 5.0 magazine. I will pay whole sale for the short shifter ($179). This is my daily driver to & from work. I like the idea of my name coming out on the magazine. But it seems like a waste of money since I don't take my car to the track yet alone drag race it. Should I pay up, or pass??

A short throw won't improve the car's performance, but will improve the feel and connection of one of the most important driver/car links. You don't have to track your car or race it to enjoy the benefits of a short throw. I say go for it regardless of whether you get into a magazine or not.

i had the hurst shifter in my 07 4.0l and loved it, after i fixed the pesky rattle with a few copper washers. ive only taken that car to the track once but loved the feel of it daily driving. ive been waiting to get one for my 11 5.0l, i just have to put the extra money aside.

Agreed. I do not, and have no plans to, race my GT. But the short throw shifter benefits it even as a daily driver. You're not going to get some kind of monster gain, but the shifting feel is much improved, and regardless of whether you'll race it or not, it's a worthwhile modification

I would go for it.There are lot's of people that would jump at this opportunity because you will have connections for future parts and write up's and trust me in the Mustang world this can go a long way.

let me know if you change your mind because I would be interested and I'm local

Go for it. I run the Steeda which is also a great piece. It definitely increases the connection with your car. IMO to say that a short throw only benefits you on the track is not correct. Anyone that enjoys driving, will enjoy it. And Hurst is an outstanding product.
