Default 2011 GT 5.0 with Brembo Package - What Tires sizes are compatible?

Ok so I am due for tires (already at 23k miles.. ) and I want to go a tad bigger/wider than the 255/40r19 Pirelli's on the car now. I have the Brembo package by the way. What tire sizes are confirmed to work with this package and not rub or cause damage? I am running stock suspension currently also..

Thanks

Ant

i have the same and plan to use a 275/35 19 in the rear (thats the max you can use w a 9" rim before you get bulge). 265/35 19 in front. yes it means you will slightly lower the front (by 0.1") vs the rear but its better than putting 265 or 275 all around. 275's are just too damn huge on the front of a stang imo. it also means that thee rear tires will be 10mm wider both sides, and the fronts will stick out 5mm more both sides. i think you can fit a 275 in there but not with the factory offset.. thats why i'm sticking with 265 35 front. 275 40 in back is just too tall, same with 265 40 in front, thats just my opinion.

also, going with the wider 275 in the back will remove some steering from the front, you can get some of that back just like ford did by raising the back end and planting weight on the front, granted its only 0.1" but its there. ford used the 25mm stabar and high load / rate coiils ont he rear of the laguna and boss for a reason. they opted for the 285 rear on a 9.5" rim, 255 /40 front. i dont feel like buying new wheels right now, so we can only use 275.

not sure why they didn't try 265's on the front, and instead went with the 26mm stabar on laguna, but i think its something to do w road noise and tracking over uneven pavement.

when i get new wheels - 10.5 or 11" in the rear to protect for 305/30's and 9.5 or 10" front to protect for 275/30's. - yea, thats a bit lower profile. looks good if your car is running on steeda sport springs.

I plan to run 275/35's on all four corners. My pirelli's are just about shot with only 12k miles. I am hoping to get 15k out of them. Too many burnouts, I guess.

same here i noticed i had a bit to much camber wear on the front inners and the rears were just worn down hard after only 4000 miles!! our cars love to send the tires into orbit.

what rubber are you thinking about? Nitto seems good but the ride and handling reviews on the less sticky 300 compound Michelin super sports say they are the best.

Nitto NT555's is the plan. On ebay a set can be had for around $900.

According to this tire calculator you can fit 285 35 19 on a 9" rim.

the 285's fit but look a bit stretched.

what are the best nitto's for street / road track work? that price can't be beat! i am looking for a soft tire since these stock P zero tires wore super quick anyhow.

There are so man nitto choices, not sure which one.

I'm thinking the same thing. Wish Ford would have made them 9.5". 275 35 19 all around is probably the best choice IMO. However I did see pictures on another forum of 285 BFG's on a Brembo wheel and there wasn't much bulging. Just worried that the rear will walk a lot on the highway.

Any results on these tire changes? My Pirelli's are worn out at 16K, and I need some advice on what to buy.

Nitto. Either the 555 or the INVO.
