Default My 2nd week update after purchase report on my new 2012 5.0 premium.

Hey guys, i just wanted to share with you how awesome this car is. I previously owned 2010 gt and a 2004 gt and now my 2012 5.0. I gotta say this car is much more refined then my 2010 4.6 ever was. Its so smooth and delivers its thrust effortlessly. The suspension is much better then my 2010 so much so i wont be looking to lower it anytime soon. This engine is so well balanced that its hard to believe there's over 400 hp under the hood. I really like the 3 way steering feature available on the 2012's, i of course use the sport mode. I ordered roush axle backs, they should wake up the sound a bit. I plan on doing these mods soon. I want a gt-500 rear spoiler. My car is black on black so i will add window tint and a set of black gt 500 style wheels and tires stagger fitment from American muscle. i will add side scoops and quarter window scoops...I'm on the list for an mgw shifter that will be ready to order in 2 weeks...anyway i'm loving this car!!!!

I'm in month 3. I love this car. Even in automatic form. I get compliments EVERYWHERE. My only problem is that I don't get a chance to open it up a lot lol.

I should have kept them yes, but i knew i wouldn't be using them on my Black 5.0 as i want to go with black wheels. Besides they wanted them more then the factory wheels because they knew those wheels would sell the car faster on their lot. I'm also considering the Roush black 20's for my car but they are expensive..

I have a Premium with no brembo's.

Waste of money IMO, went with aftermarket wheels, so no sense in paying the extra cash on wheels that I won't use.

Besides stock GT brakes are awesome on their own.

I paid $1600 for Wheels (which I resold for $1000) and Brembos which are usually $2000+ aftermarket. So I effectively paid $600 for $2000 brakes.

Definitely a good investment, especially for resale - considering the whole "I got brembos" factor.

As far as brake power, I've driven both and there is an absolute difference especially in heat dissipation for braking endurance not to mention pure stopping power. If you're just cruising on the street, regular brakes are fine. If you intend to up the power or drive more fun (which is why I bought a Mustang) go with the Brembos.

To each their own, but just my $0.02.

Those wheels are amazing, but crazy expensive. It's what, about $1500 for just the wheels, no tires? I like the hypercoated ones too.

TOO TRUE!!!!
(Now, I have only driven ONE non-Brembo car, and that was a dealer test drive) but I too can atest to the Brembos being kick-butt for superior stopping. On I-70, some stupid soccer-mom decided it would be an awesome idea to jump from the far left lane to the far right lane, in traffic at 60-70 mph.....and come w/in about a foot from hitting me. THANK YOU BREMBOS!!!! I was NOT crushed due to the Brembos (and probably the Pireli Zeros too)!

Brembos true cost = $600.
Saving your life = Priceless.

Edit: Congrats on the sub-13s 1/4 mile.
I haven't done an official 1/4 mile with mine yet, but I'm ready to go.
I got RTR 19x9.5 w/275s all around + Steeda LCA and 3rd-Link all plugged in on top of new strut/dampers and 1" lowering springs. Now its up to my skills because I have no room for equipment excuses.
