Default Question on headers for 2011 5.0

I have a 2011 5.0 that I have already installed Magnaflow x-pipe and cat back exhaust. Any recommendations on headers that will work well with this set up? I already have my SCT box from American Muscle so I will get updated tunes.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!

go with longtube headers and matching catted x pipe.

I've always heard that shorty headers aren't worth the time, money, and effort. I think AM has a sale on some decent setups this month.

Long Tubes are the next logical step. The factory 5.0 manifold is already pretty much a shorty header.

I'm going with Kooks headers and o/r x... I'm getting rid of the cats and resenators and putting the SLP mufflers on. Can't wait to get it done!!!

Depends on your plans for the car.

I went with American Racing 1 7/8 Primaries with their off road x-pipe and daaaammmmmmnnnn... It sounds unbelievable and pulls great!

I have the magnaflow comp catback as well.. No cats tho

Just installed...

On the strip, not my best run, but you can hear the exhaust pretty decent.

my neighbors would kill me if I set off all their car alarms just with my exhaust note.

I used to do it with the subs in my first car. It would be like a game:

1. Turn stereo to 11
2. Drive through parking garage
3. ?????
4. Profit

but that's when I was young and didn't value my ear drums.

You will need a new mid-pipe to match to the LT headers. luckily you can probably sell your old x-pipe easily enough. you could call americanmuscle to see what they recommend. Kooks is always a good brand, quality products and results. looking at $1,000 for those. I decided LT headers just wont be worth the WHP gained.

If you could get a dyno test before the LT headers and after I think we would all appreciate. I expect you wont see more than 10-15whp.

The sound is the biggest factor with long-tubes; I still use my factory mid-pipes and my exhaust is deceivingly quite. Great melow note at low rpms, noticeable, but not loud. After 3K rpms the raspy growl note comes on and anything over 5K sounds insane.

I did notice I got alot of torque back from when I replaced my intake too; power is still very peaky over 7K.
