I believe ALL WalMarts carry the Motorcraft filters plus the Motorcraft synthetic blend. I continue to use that in the wifes V6 (but my GT gets Amsoil.... don't tell her...).

Mine did not. To be remedied this week with a top off as well. Figured that I need to change the filter but the oil is still good at 5k. For those who do the 10k changes, what do you do with the oil life meter?

The 05's thru 09's don't have an oil life meter but I do 10k mile changes on my 07 Stang and 8K or more mile changes on my SUV (DD/tow vehicle) which does have an oil reminder light at 3k miles. I ignore/reset the one on the SUV and, if my Stang had one, I'd do the same.

Sounds true, but I wouldn't count on every stealership owning up to anything.

I'll just let the dealer do the oil changes for now. They gave me a coupon book for "free" ones up until 36k. Works for me, not to mention, I want them to be the ONLY shop that ever touches the car, so if it explodes, they have full service records and history. When I've had more modded stangs in the past, I always did my own (especially the supercharged one).

It takes me 5 minutes to change my own and I never have to leave my house. I don't see the dealer beating that.

I go to my local AutoZone & it costs me $70. 8qts. of Mobil 1 for $6-something a qt. and $10 for a Mobil 1 oil filter. Been changing my own oil since I was 17 & just don't trust anyone else to do it. I'm sure most dealerships do a fine job, but I know if I do it, it will be done with the love my car deserves.

I change my own oil as well. Full ramps make it a piece of cake Now I just go off the indicator for the stang and my wife's vehicle.
